Dr Anton Ravindran

Dr Anton Ravindran, is currently the CEO and Founder of RapidStart, President of Global Science and Technology Forum (GSTF) and an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Information Systems at Bina Nusantara University, Jakarta, Indonesia (Since Oct 2011). He was a visiting Prof and Researcher at the Institute for Research in Applicable Computing (IRAC) at the University of Bedfordshire (March 2013 – Feb 2015) and Adjunct Professor, Dept of Management, Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani – Dubai Campus (Oct 2012- Sept 2014). He is currently an Advisor and mentor to FundedHere (MAS licensed Crowd Funding Platform), TiKEE Pty Ltd, AutoLotto, as well as DBS BusinessClass and Advisory Council Member Colombo School of Business Management (CSBM).
He is the author and co-editor of 4 books: “Business Review: Advanced Applications”, “Innovations in Technology Enhanced Learning” and “The ICT Age” (all 3 published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing, UK) and Forging Connections between Computational Mathematics and Computational Geometry (published by Springer, New York). His 5th book (jointly edited with Prof Liz Bacon and Dr. Hing Yan Lee) titled Body of Knowledge: Cloud Computing (published by SCS, Singapore) is targeted for release by March 2017.
In the industry, he worked for several major MNCs in technical and management capacities including Computer Associates, Sun Microsystems, Oracle and Singalab (former IBM & NCB JV). Dr Ravindran founded and spearheaded 4 IT companies and has won several entrepreneurship accolades and awards including Singapore ASME Top Entrepreneur for two consecutive years (2005 & 2006) and winner of Singapore Indian Entrepreneur for large enterprises (2006) amongst others. The company he founded and spearheaded (Genovate) won the Enterprise 50 award in 2005 and 2006 and was ranked the fastest growing software company (E50) in 2005.
He has been part of various professional bodies and committees (both present and past) including National Internet Advisory Committee (Singapore) – Ministry of InfoComm & Arts; Chair, Working Group for Cloud Computing Professional Development (IDA-SCS); President, Cloud Computing Chapter (SCS); and Vice Chair, Electric, Electronic and Allied Industry Group (EEAI of SMF); President, Singapore Education International (SEI); Member, IT & Technology Development Function Committee for SMF; Council Member, Business Continuity Group (SCS); Member, Singapore Institute of Directors; Exco member of the Singapore Enterprise Chapter (SEC) of SiTF, amongst others.
He holds a BSc (UTA, Texas), an MBA (UNT, Texas), and a Doctorate degree in IT Management from the University of South Australia, having been awarded the International Information Technology Management Academic Merit Scholarship. He is a fellow of the British Computer Society and a Chartered Engineer (UK).
